AI Skills that pay back

Save a day a week on routine work.

A six-week live programme — UK-designed, CPD-accredited, built for Nigerian work and business.

Training starts 14 September 2026

AI is already changing how work gets done. The professionals and business owners who learn to use it well will work faster, communicate more confidently, and make better decisions. Those who don't will find themselves at a growing disadvantage.

This programme gives you the practical skills to use AI effectively in your own work and business context — starting from week one, not at the end of a theory course.

who it’s for

Small business owners and traders

Save time on admin, communicate more professionally, and grow your customer base using AI tools built into your daily workflow.

Mid-level professionals

Whether you work in corporate, NGO, or public sector roles, sharpen the edge that pays back in your career — faster research, better documents, stronger presentations.

Graduates and Job Seekers

Stand out in a competitive market. Demonstrable AI skills are already on employer shortlists — this programme gives you the evidence to match.

the programme - 6 modules

Module 1 — Week 1: What AI Actually Is
Cutting Through the Hype

Most people arrive with a mix of curiosity and confusion about what AI can and cannot do. This module cuts through the noise. You will learn how large language models work in plain terms, what makes a good prompt, and how to start getting useful results immediately. By the end of week one, AI will feel like a tool rather than a mystery.

Module 2 — Week 2: AI for Communication and Content

Writing takes time. This module shows you how to use AI to draft, edit, and improve written communication, from emails and reports to social posts and proposals. You will learn how to keep your own voice while letting AI do the heavy lifting on structure and first drafts.

Module 3 — Week 3: AI for Business Operations

Repetitive tasks eat into the working day. This module covers how to use AI for scheduling, summarising, researching, and organising information. Whether you run a small business or work inside a larger organisation, you will leave with practical time-saving workflows you can use the following morning.

Module 4 — Week 4: AI for Professionals — Sector Applications

AI looks different depending on your field. This module explores how practitioners in housing, finance, education, healthcare, and the third sector are using AI tools right now. You will work through examples relevant to your own context and build a picture of where AI fits into your professional practice.

Module 5 — Week 5: AI Safety, Ethics, and Critical Thinking

AI gets things wrong, sometimes confidently. This module covers how to spot errors, understand bias, protect sensitive information, and use AI responsibly. You will leave knowing how to be a critical user rather than a passive one, which is what separates people who get lasting value from AI from those who give up on it.

Module 6 — Week 6: Building Your AI-Powered Future

The final module is about momentum. You will build a personal AI toolkit, a practical plan for embedding AI into your working week, and leave with the confidence to keep developing your skills after the programme ends. Graduates also join the GUP AI alumni network for ongoing peer support and resources.
