asset management it
Senior, software-fluent practitioner consultancy for landlords procuring, implementing, or optimising their asset management and statutory compliance IT systems. We support local authorities, ALMOs, registered providers, and housing associations.
The challenge we solve
Asset management IT projects fail for the same reasons time after time. Buyers procure systems based on supplier promises rather than operational reality. Implementations stall when client teams cannot translate compliance requirements into system configuration. Live systems become workarounds, not workflows. The cost of these failures is measured in regulatory exposure, wasted investment, and the operational burden carried by the asset management teams who have to make it work anyway.
who we are
Ground Up Consulting's Asset Management IT service is led by Ola Onabajo, a senior asset management practitioner with over 25 years of experience in UK affordable social housing.
Our experience is current, not historic. Most recently, until July 2026, Ola was Service Manager (Asset Management) at a major UK local authority, where her work included current operational experience as project sponsor for NEC Assets and C365 for statutory building compliance management.
Most asset managers cannot speak fluently to data structures, integration architecture, or system configuration. Most IT consultants cannot speak fluently to statutory compliance regimes, regulator returns, or operational realities. We do both.
what we offer
We work with clients in 5 broad ways. Engagements are scoped to the problem, not to a fixed product.
Audit and health-check: Review of how a client uses their current system. Gap analysis against operational and regulatory needs, and a prioritised improvement roadmap. The "what are we missing" engagement.
Pre-procurement advisory: Requirements gathering, business case, options appraisal, ITT specification, evaluation criteria, and supplier engagement. The "help us buy the right thing" engagement.
Implementation support: Leading or supporting clients through procurement, configuration, data migration, and go-live. The "make this implementation succeed" engagement.
Training and adoption: Getting users genuinely using the system, not working around it. The "make the investment pay off" engagement.
Vendor-side support: Supporting software vendors to win and deliver implementations to clients in our specialist markets. The "help us land and deliver" engagement.
We specialise in
Statutory compliance and its IT support, particularly the integration of compliance data across specialist systems into the master asset management platform. Stock condition and component lifecycle management. Resident-facing systems and self-service. Data quality, migration, and integration. Reporting, dashboards, and regulator returns.
Platforms we know in depth:
NEC Software Solutions (NEC Assets, NEC Housing), C365, Civica (Cx, Universal Housing), Orchard, and TechnologyOne, with platform-agnostic methodology applied to others.
